Advent Festival for all Ages, November 22 in the evening

Posted by posborne

Please join us for our inter generational Advent Festival on Sunday evening, Nov 22.  The evening’s activities will include food, advent crafts and preparatory materials, music, and more.  We will begin at 5:30 with food and crafts available until 7:15 when we will have an inter generational “mini” lessons and carols.  Advent is the celebration and expectation of the coming of Jesus into the world. In the four weeks of Advent the meaning of the coming of the Messiah shifts from expectation to preparation.  The first Sunday of Advent, when we begin the seasons of the church year is November 29th, the Sunday following Thanksgiving.  By having our festival on the 22 we will all be ready to begin the season of Advent and use it effectively as a part of our spiritual formation.  While we wait in expectation, we are called to pray, so service and mission and prepare our own hearts for the arrival of the messiah.
