Being Heard

We welcome our guest preacher this Sunday (1/25), the Rev. Dr. Paul Smith. Dr. Smith is pastor emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn. Dr. Smith created unique and successful models of multicultural worship and interfaith collaboration at churches in Buffalo, St. Louis, Atlanta (Hillside Presbyterian), and New York City. An active participant in the Civil Rights movement, Dr. Smith is a student of the theologian and mystic Howard Thurman. He has taught in seminaries, worked in higher education, and advised hospitals on medical ethics. He has written extensively on issues of integration and is a leading authority on multicultural training and arbitration. Dr. Smith has worked tireless to foster of world of inclusiveness, diversity, peace, and justice.
