When is worship?
NDPC offers two Sunday worship services (8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.) with an hour-long Church School (9:30-10:30am). In the summer (Labor Day – Memorial Day weekend), there is one worship service (10:00 a.m.) and no Church School. The 8:30 a.m. service is a simple version of the later service, with Communion served every Sunday. The 11:00 a.m. service follows a traditional order of worship, though each Sunday is unique. Special services mark holidays in the church calendar (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday).
Do children come to worship?
Children belong in the family of God. Children offer insights that open the gospel to all of us in a new way. Children who are included in worship at a young age absorb the sights, sounds and feeling of worship. Children who attend grow to appreciate the importance of worship in their lives. At NDPC children are welcome at every worship.
That said, some children aren’t comfortable sitting for an hour and sometimes parents need time alone. NDPC offers childcare during worship for infants – age 2, and children ages 3-6 attend the first 20 minutes of worship, then leave the Sanctuary for a children’s time just before the sermon begins. On Communion Sundays, children return to the Sanctuary to share the sacrament with their family.
