Worship this Sunday is at 8:45 and  11AM with Church School for All Ages at 9:45AM.

All NDPC Events are ONLINE for January

The Session of North Decatur Presbyterian Church has approved a proposal to make all church activities virtual for the month of January. Church will go on, but we will gather with each other online instead of in-person. Worship will be live-streamed at 11AM on Sundays. Adult and children’s Sunday School classes will be held on Zoom. We have learned over the past two years that the Body of Christ continues with our mission and our calling, even-when we can’t be together in person.

This decision was not made lightly. We deeply value being with one another in person. However, the Omicron wave of COVID spreads rapidly and our previous precautions (masks, distancing, and vaccinations) are less effective at preventing the transmission of this strain of the virus. Local emergency rooms are stressed by this COVID wave. Positive tests are higher than at any point of the epidemic. Part of the way we at NDPC can love our neighbors is by staying away from each other until this wave passes. We hope that will be soon.

NDPC’s COVID team (Elders Carol Morgan, Jill Jacques, and David Root) will meet weekly with the co-pastors to monitor public health data and make recommendations to Session to adjust our policy as needed. If you have a question about how our policy affects a church group that you are a part of, reach out directly to the task force at [email protected]. We are particularly aware of the upcoming Women’s Retreat, and we will share information about the retreat through the retreat communications emails.

The Elders and staff are making plans to move our programs online. We will share all of the details–with all those lovable Zoom links–to you tomorrow through the Communicator or through Realm. We can do this, together!

Thanks for your understanding, your patience, and your faith, hope and love.
Revs. Beth Waltemath and David Lewicki
