Daniel In The Lion’s Den

Taizé Tuesdays at NDPC

Join us Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. during the month of August (4, 11, 18 and 25) for a contemplative service of music, scripture, prayer, and silence. Meditative songs with few words sung over and over again reinforce the meditative quality of the prayer. A brief word of scripture, prayers for our world and our people, and an extended period of silence. Watch on Facebook Live or Vimeo from our website. The service will be available all week long on the NDPC website for you to watch and participate at your leisure. Below is the August 8th video.

David Lewicki preaching. What would you do if you came face-to-face with a lion? We find out what happened to the hero Daniel in this week’s Best. Story. Ever! But what if the lion is more than “just” a lion? What if the lion is also a metaphor for what it’s like when we find ourselves facing an enemy that is ready, willing, and able to destroy us? Take this metaphor one more step: what if I told you this story is a story about surviving in the face of cultural forces that want to destroy your identity–your history, your faith, your language, your dreams? What do you do when you find yourself alone in the lion’s den?

Join us on Facebook at this link at 10:00 a.m. as we gather together virtually as a worshiping community.  We will view the pre-recorded video together, comment, “sign” the welcome register and chat with each other, even during the sermon.

Fellowship Time

Want to connect with other members? We have a tradition of enjoying lemonade outside after worship in the summers. We can’t gather in person yet but we can gather virtually to catch up, break the ice if you are new, and stay cool together through summer fellowship.

Join our host for a virtual “lemonade time” from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. after our Sunday service watch party. The host will convene us with a warm greeting and ice breaker question. If there are a bunch of us, the host will even open up Zoom rooms for smaller groups and rotate us around to mingle and make the most of this super fantastic social set-up. Join us for our Lemonade and Zoom hour. Details are in the Communicator and the Sunday morning email.
