Exodus – The Wilderness 2

We are all going through a “wilderness experience” during the pandemic. We are forced to journey through a new, difficult territory. For many of us, we are short on patience and quick to anger or despair. Our relationships feel tense. In this week’s story from Exodus 17, the people of God are stressed and angry about the lack of water. God hears them and provides for them, sending water flowing from a rock. God provides. But what a curious name they give to this place: “Massah” and “Meribah.” Testing and arguing. They remember not just the miracle, but they remember their stress and hardship. What if we remembered the places of our deepest struggle, too? How would that shape our life in and with God? Rev. Lewicki, preaching.

Join us on Facebook at this link at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning as we gather together virtually as a worshiping community.  We will view the pre-recorded video together, comment, “sign” the welcome register and chat with each other, even during the sermon.

Fellowship and Zoom

Want to connect with other members? We have a tradition of enjoying coffee indoors just after the education hour and before worship during the program year. We can’t gather in person yet but we can gather virtually to catch up, break the ice if you are new, and stay hydrated together through our fellowship time.

Join our host for a virtual “fellowship time” from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. just before our Sunday service watch party. Our host will convene us with a warm greeting and ice breaker question. If there are a bunch of us, we will even open up Zoom rooms for smaller groups and rotate us around to mingle and make the most of this super fantastic social set-up. See Communicator for zoom information.
