Updated COVID Policy: April 2022

NDPC’s Session appointed a new COVID Team that met on Sunday, April 3rd. The team members are Matt Eby, Ariel Hart, and Virginia Pribbenow, with Rev. David Lewicki serving as staff liaison.

After reviewing public data for our community and the CDC’s recommendations, the COVID Team made the following changes to NDPC’s COVID policy, which the Session subsequently approved:

  1. Continue to require masking in the Sanctuary and in other indoor areas. This is a maximally hospitable practice for making every individual on our campus feel welcome and safe. We will continue to monitor the need for masking.
  2. End the prohibition of passing objects during worship (ie, Communion plates, offering plates, pew pads). It is left to the discretion of the worship and other committees about when and how to resume those practices safely; it is no longer necessary to prohibit them.
  3. End the prohibition against eating inside. The COVID team discussed this at length. We believe it is prudent to end the blanket prohibition against eating indoors at church. We offer the following guidelines, which must be adhered to if eating is taking place inside:
-people are to keep ~6 ft. of social distance
-rooms in which eating/drinking is taking place should be ventilated (open doors and/or windows)
-when eating is finished, masks should be worn.
