Worship this Sunday is at 8:45 and 11AM.

Ash Wednesday: March 5th

Join your church community to begin Lent on Ash Wednesday, 3/5

5PM: Drop in between 5 and 6:30pm and gather around the fire pit outdoors; this self-guided liturgy is family and child friendly; we sit by the fire, pray quietly, set Lenten commitments, and receive ashes; drive-through ashes are also available from the clergy

6:30PM: Gather in the sanctuary for a meditative service of scripture, prayer, singing, and the imposition of ashes.

About Lent

Lent is the season of 40 days that leads from Ash Wednesday (3/5) to Easter (4/20). It is a time for followers of Jesus to examine our own lives and ask how can we live like Jesus? The traditional practices of Lent are prayer, fasting, and charity. In Lent, we ask you to embrace these practices and do them.

This year, as we read stories from the Gospel of Luke, we look for insight about why God gives us our bodies. What is a body for? What can a body do? Are there things a body shouldn’t do? What does it mean that our bodies are vulnerable, that we die? What is the purpose of this embodied life?
