NDPC Childrens Programs

CHILDREN AT NDPC

At North Decatur Presbyterian Church, Our faith formation nurtures children from birth through high school. We welcome the privilege and responsibility to remind one another that we are all beloved children of God. Our Children, Youth and Family Ministry is centered around the social, emotional and spiritual development of each child in our care. We think kids and youth are awesome!

Our goal is to partner with families of children and youth to

  • Provide a place where everyone belongs, a place where they can trust that they are loved.
  • Come to know and trust God through the stories in the Bible.
  • Wonder and ask questions as they grow in their faith journey.
  • To learn what it means to live out their faith in the world.

We offer several different ways on Sunday to help your family engage in the life of the church.

SUNDAY MORNING

WORSHIP (8:15 AM & 11:00 AM)

At NDPC, Children are a vital part of our congregation and are welcomed and encouraged to participate in worship. We understand and welcome the wiggles of childhood. We encourage parents to sit up close so that children can see and participate more fully. We provide parents with options that best fit for your family.

  • Worship Bags are  located in the hall before you enter the sanctuary  – to keep little hands busy.
  • Worship and Wonder: Before the sermon, children 4-2nd grade are invited to leave with leaders to attend a worship program designed to introduce young children to the Bible and worship in a way that respects their developmental stage and encourages them to connect with God. Worship and Wonder uses storytelling, rituals, and sensory experiences to help children engage with God, God’s stories and participate in worship practices.
  • Sensory Space: We also offer a space in our hall outside the sanctuary for children who may need a different environment to participate or a place to calm.
