As you surely know, things are a bit different this year. With COVID still a major health concern, even our highly-vaccinated community is taking precautions around worship, to try and gather while keeping one another safe. To that end, we are asking everyone (NDPC members and guests) to register to join us at NDPC for in-person worship on Christmas Eve. Three services will be held on December 24th, at 11AM, 5PM, and 7PM.
We are limiting capacity at each service to 100 people to allow for safe social distance. Each service will have the same liturgy, with lessons and carols, a homily by Rev. Lewicki, Holy Communion, and candlelight. Vaccinations are strongly encouraged and masks are required. We will be checking registration lists at the door to the Sanctuary on Christmas Eve–we know that feels very much like King Herod and not like Jesus, but it’s important to ensure safety and to make sure those who registered can be seated first. We will provide overflow seating in the Fellowship Hall as needed.
Each service is “family friendly”–children are always welcome at every NDPC worship service. We will not have our traditional Christmas pageant with children in costume at the 5PM service, because, as many of you know, the pageant is a joyful, chaotic mess and we couldn’t figure out a way to do it and still keep kids safe. We expect that a pageant experience will be part of our Christmas celebration in 2022.
Visitors are always welcome at NDPC. We are saving spaces for our guests–both those who register and a few who don’t. We want everyone to feel at home.
Finally, the 11AM service will be live-streamed, and the recording will be available to watch online any time after 12 noon for those who are planning to worship at home.
