Adult Ed: Can white people be saved?
Come join the conversation on this provocative question posed by theologian Willie James Jennings. Tim Hartman, Associate Professor of Theology at Columbia Seminary will lead a discussion about race and theology, specifically about how whiteness and salvation came to be fused in modern theological reflection. Together, we will consider Jennings’ desire to turn us from a formation towards a vision of maturity that is bound in death towards a vision of the flourishing of all, by “saving us from becoming or being White people.”
