Centering Prayer
Join us for contemplative prayer focused on the cultivation of compassion. This group will share leadership as we are inspired by the writings of medieval mystics and practitioners of non-violent activism from John Lewis, Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosemarie Freeney Harding, and the Highlander School. We will be joined by Dr. Wendy Farley, professor of spirituality at San Francisco Theological Seminary as we explore the links between contemplative practice and social engagement. We meet for thirty minutes with a short introduction and inspiration,15-20 minutes of shared silent meditation, and closing time for reflection on our experience.
