Members, friends, and neighbors of NDPC, here is our Holy Week 2022 worship schedule. Please join us as often as you can. All are welcome!
Palm Sunday: April 10, 11AM
Worship begins on the Plaza with a procession of palms into the sanctuary. The service will share “scenes” from Jesus’ final week in Jerusalem (at night alone in the Temple, overturning the tables of the money changers, the widow’s offering, and the anointing at Bethany). The service concludes with anointing ritual for those who choose to participate.
Maundy Thursday: April 14, evening (TBD)
A service of footwashing, Communion, and a shared meal. Several gatherings will be hosted in homes in parishes. There will be one worship service at the church for all who don’t currently belong to a parish.
Good Friday: April 15th
9AM: Stations of the Cross walk from Clarkston (Memorial Drive Ministries) to NDPC, with 12 readings along the way. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring water, snacks, and rain gear if necessary. RSVP to [email protected].
7PM: A service of music and readings in a darkened sanctuary
Holy Saturday: April 16th, 1-4PM
Join us on Holy Saturday for a Grief & Poetry workshop led by Zeena Regis. The complex feelings of grief and loss are often difficult to capture in words. In our retreat, we will read the poems of others and discuss how the language, metaphors, and images connect to our own grief stories. No poetry writing will be required. We will spend most of our time together reading, sharing, and exploring poetic expressions of loss. Contact [email protected] to register.
