Sunday service: 11AM. Join us this Sunday in-person or online!

Summer ’23 at NDPC

Welcome to summer at North Decatur Presbyterian Church!

From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, our congregation’s practice is to slow down. We do less. There are fewer programs. Fewer calendar dates to mark. It is not a “time off” of church. Think of it instead as a season of Sabbath. A slow, intentional way of being church together.

We join together to worship God every Sunday in summer at one service at 10AM. All ages, all generations, in one room. It’s a good time to introduce (or re-introduce) children to the sights, sounds, and rhythms of worship. There is a “Children’s Corner” in the lobby with quiet games and activities to keep kids occupied in the pews during the service. Nursery care for our littlest ones continues in the summer from 9:45 – 11:15AM.

If you are “church shopping” this summer come visit NDPC and get to know this community during these mellow months. Stay for a cool drink after worship and meet some of our members. If you can’t come in person, visit us online. The summer worship service is live-streamed on our website.

There is no Sunday School for adults or children in June or July. Registration and parent orientation for the ’23-’24 children and youth program will take place on Sunday, August 13th, after the 10AM worship. Save that date!

There are many opportunities to serve our neighbors during the summer. Explore the service page of our website to find out where your interests and the community’s needs meet, and reach out to the organizers to volunteer your time and your love.

The summertime offers us all the unique opportunity to take things slowly. See you at NDPC this summer for “slow church.”
