Mr. Jefferson was raised in a musical family. While growing up, his early music experiences were provided by his older cousin who sang and played piano in church. He participated in chorus all throughout middle and high school. After getting his high school diploma, Mr. Jefferson attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts to pursue his passion in music. After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree, he later accepted a choral director position at Utopian Academy for the Arts in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Jefferson is currently in his 8th year at Utopian Academy for the Arts Middle School and is the Director of Choral Activities for grades 6th -8th. His choir at Utopian Academy for the Arts Middle School has performed for CNN, Governor Glen, and Musiq Soulchild to name a few. He is a strict advocate for arts education in schools. He also knows firsthand how arts integration can positively affect and enrich the student’s educational experience. He is also an accomplished songwriter and background vocalist. Some of his credits include singing background vocals for neo soul artist, Bilal and country music legend, Willie Nelson. Mr. Jefferson has also performed background vocals for various bands and productions in the Metro Atlanta area.
Mr. Jefferson continues to make a difference in the life of others by offering private instruction in voice, piano and music theory. He firmly believes that music is a universal language that has the innate power to change and transform lives. As he moves forward, it is his sincere desire to continue to make a difference to all that come across his path.
