The gift of camp!

I hope the thought of summer camp brings fond memories to mind. It does for me. Camp gave me a chance to meet new people and make life-long friends, try new things in a fresh setting, and be independent from my family. And church camp – well that provides a whole other layer of significance. Your faith can come alive when you talk to people who come from a different place or background. You have time to dig deeper and explore more fully God’s love for yourself, your neighbor and the world.

Our youth have been participating in Montreat conferences and mission trips for a very long time. It is a wonderful tradition and bonding experience. Calvin Center, our Presbytery Camp in Hampton, GA, offers great opportunities for elementary students and middle schoolers.  Camp Grier in Old Fort, NC is another Presbyterian camp that several of our church families will attend this summer.
