8:45 AM – Contemplative Worship Service (every 4th Sunday of the month)

Citizens with the Saints

All Saint’s Day: As a country and a religion, we can approach our complex history with shame or amnesia but forget gratitude for those who have come before us.  The saints that built our roads, our courthouses and our churches, financed our interstates with their taxes and our ministries with their tithes, fought for freedom, marched for the right to vote and overtured the heck out of our church polity to gain equal ordination for women and LGBTQ+.  Rev. Beth Waltemath preaches on what ordinary sainthood looks like in the Bible and in the world.  How do we restore the honor of being good citizens in our democracy?  How do we claim our present sainthood by remembering the saintly acts of the past?  In service, we will remember our recently departed saints of NDPC by the reading of their names and the ringing of bells.

For further discussion about the civic virtue of gratitude and instilling a legacy of generosity for generations to come, join Beth Waltemath, Roberta Goldbaugh, Rick Neale and Genia Cayce for a class on Creating a Culture of Generosity starting in mid-November and running through December.
